QUEBEC HAS A MAJOR QUAKE

Postby whirlwind » Sun Feb 28, 2010 5:16 am

This Feb 27th late in the evening a massive quake ( massive to me that is ) has happened.. my house shook for about 30 seconds.. the windows and pictures moved..., I do not believe much damage was done... I am waiting for information as to size and location.

This quake was followed by two more in around the Quebec city region, followed by 3 more in around the area I reside..

This is quite alarming as we get one quake around here every three to four years apart. now to have had 5 separate quakes within one week tends to support massive magma movement asunder.

Oops and another just struck , most likely another 2.5 - 3.0

The Ides of March is almost upon us .. 2010 03 15 = 12 = 3 And I am having these quirky feelings a biggie is to be sprung upon us..

Did it shake the snow off the mountain?

June 23rd 2010 another Quake has shaken the ground here in and around the mountian.. this was for us a biggie.. it lasted quite a while and homes shook.. this took place at 13:45 pm..

Well this was quick reporting form EMSC,

The quake was a FOR US quite powerful it was a 5.4

Magnitude mb 5.4
Region SOUTHERN QUEBEC, CANADA

Date time 2010-06-23 at 17:41:39.4 UTC
Location 46.01 N ; 75.38 W
Depth 2 km

Distances 70 km N Ottawa (pop 874,433 ; local time 13:41 2010-06-23)
48 km N Buckingham (pop 21,373 ; local time 13:41 2010-06-23)
41 km NW Saint-andré-avellin (pop 1,868 ; local time 13:41 2010-06-23)

The epi center may just have been under this mountian, it was that close.

Very suprising to say the least..

USSG is reporting it as a 5.5 and are also placing it in Ontario... strange how they can move a quake around.

Have a look at the map which shows clearly where the quake was positioned... whats is up with this miss information?

As the bird flies we are 65 miles from Ottawa but 25 miles from the epi center as they say it was. It was loud and long enough for me to run to the kitchen, close the stove and return outside... some people are reporting some minor damage..

The area of this epic cemter is under a large river emptying from the Appalachian Mountains or what is left of them.. our home sits on the tallest of these for miles around.. in fact last week we tried to clear the area behind the house.. it turned out to be a soild piece of Granite which is making way for one hell of a beautiful rock and root vegetable garden... This rock we; now, know is the root problem to having our basement flood in heavy rain runoffs..

As for the updates .. this quake has moved position three times by three different agencies who we pay to tell us these things...

Now I am beginning to have questions on this quake... it would never cause any really great danger, as quebec is almost one soild piece of Granite..

First and foremost is it happened on the eve of St. John the Baptist.. the patron saint of Quebec.. which also happens to be the day of Celebration of the Illuminate... on which they cut off the head of St. John.

A very interesting story on how the illuminate work..

My second wondering is that I have a bizzar feeling lately that things are really going to heat up world crisis wise.. and I think this quake is the announcement for things to begin... They will get the G-20 summit over with on Moday ... and we all know the Illuminate do their best work on a Tuesday... don't we.............
